Since opening in 1997, the UW Tacoma campus has evolved continuously to meet the growing and changing needs of our campus community. The IFM Planning and Development team guides this evolution, collaborating with a range of stakeholders to vision, plan, and implement small and large projects, always with an eye toward meeting the needs of the campus and the community. The result is a truly unique university setting, a built environment dedicated to student success and to UW Tacoma's urban serving mission.

CAMPUS PROJECTS HIGHLIGHT
CARD READER UPGRADES NEARLY COMPLETE
Over two hundred…that is the number of Husky Card compatible card readers that will have been installed across campus by the end of 2022. As part of a multi-year project to upgrade UW Tacoma’s aging access card entry system, new readers have been installed on all building entries as well as on interior spaces requiring controlled access. The project was led by Jennifer Myers, Construction Project Manager, who was able to successfully source the new readers system in spite of significant supply chain delays caused by COVID-19 pandemic. Thanks to Jennifer’s hard work, UW Tacoma students, faculty, and staff can now add ready access to campus buildings to the list of functions supported by the Husky Card—one card that does it all!
