Nathalie
Nathalie is majoring in Biomedical Sciences and minoring in Law and Policy. She has experience with argumentative essays, research papers, and personal narratives. She is most excited to connect with more students on campus and help them build their confidence as writers. Nathalie has a deep love for true crime and hopes to become a forensic scientist after graduation. She loves to mountain bike, read, and cook.
Althea
Althea is a senior majoring in accounting with experience in writing argumentative essays, personal narratives, resumes, and business-related papers. She is familiar with APA and MLA citation styles and enjoys helping people find their writing voice. During her downtime, Althea likes reading, skiing, and watching TV shows.
Brandy
Brandy is a junior majoring in Creative writing and minoring in Business. She plans on getting her Masters in Creative Writing to become a fiction writer. She is familiar with APA and MLA citation styles and thoroughly indulges in helping students in their writing process by editing and giving useful feedback to each student. Furthermore, Brandy likes reading, writing, and hanging out with her cat, Tuna.
Brigid
Brigid is a Law and Policy major with a focus on criminal justice. She has experience in creative writing, speech and presentation scripts, and reflection papers. She is familiar with APA and MLA citations. In her free time she enjoys reading fantasy books, making art, writing fiction, and cooking.
James
James holds a Masters in international studies, focusing on Chinese and Russian geopolitics. He also completed undergraduate degrees in literature and history at UWT, and is familiar with Chicago, MLA, and APA citation styles.
Brooklyn
Brooklyn is a senior at University of Washington Tacoma. They are a Law and Policy major with a minor in Human Rights. After graduation, they intend to attend law school and specialize in immigration law. They are familiar with APA and MLA citations and advanced in technical writing and documents, resumes, short stories, and general application materials. They are passionate about the many narratives around abolition, immigration, gender, and the ways they are or could be applied to legal frameworks. They enjoy dissecting complex theories and finding ways to think and write about them in ways that feel applicable to real life experience.
Alexa
Alexa is a sustainable urban development major that enjoys creative writing. She is familiar with MLA and APA citation styles. She is enthusiastic about connecting with and assisting students. She can help map goals for student writing. She is a mother and veteran originally from New York City. During her spare time Alexa loves to travel, watch movies and spend time with family.
Danalyn
Danalyn is a senior with a major in Psychology and a minor in Education & Community Engagement. She is passionate about research on positive youth development and the mental health resilience of Asian Americans. She is familiar with APA and MLA citation styles and loves supporting students on research papers, argumentative essays, personal narratives, and reflections. In her free time, she enjoys baking, running, hiking, and playing music, and nurturing her beloved houseplants.
Josephine
Josephine is a Social Welfare major with a background in Social Service/Mental health. She has experience with research papers, personal narratives, reflections, speeches, creative writing, and resumes. She is familiar with APA and MLA. She loves sharing in the writing and learning process with students, and in her spare time she likes being with her pets and enjoys various creative hobbies.
Lindsay
Lindsay (perceived pronouns) is a junior majoring in Environmental Science with a particular interest in environmental remediation and engineering. She is most familiar with APA and CSE formatting. She creative writes in her free time and enjoys collaborating with students to help them express their point of view. Her interests outside of school include music of all genres, cheesy puns, playing with her cat Freddie Mercury, and trying to engineer the next new super-material in her kitchen microwave—with limited success.

Kelvin Keown, MATESOL
Kelvin Keown is interim Assistant Director of the TLC writing center. He enjoys learning and thinking about language(s). He has been an English teacher since 2006. Before joining the TLC in 2010, he was a Lecturer of English in Nagoya, Japan. Kelvin has also taught in intensive English programs at The University of Montana and the Monterey Institute of International Studies, where he earned a Master’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). His hobbies include playing guitar and orchestrating the fermentation of malted beverages.
Margaret Lundberg, Ph.D.
Margaret Lundberg, a graduate of both UW Tacoma and UW Seattle, holds a Ph.D. in Language and Rhetoric and an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her expertise lies in the rhetoric of personal and public documents. With writing proficiencies ranging from personal narratives to graduate writing, Margaret enjoys collaborating with writers across a variety of genres. Margaret is also editor-in-chief of Access: Interdisciplinary Journal of Student Research and Scholarship, housed in the UW Tacoma Digital Commons. Her current interests include discovering practical uses for generative AI (such as Chat GPT) as a writing tool and creating strong support systems for returning adult students.
