I think my favorite genre changes based on my mood. I'm always a fan of high fantasy and science fiction, but I also like real stories about human experiences.
Recently, I saw a work that was a bunch of sculpted cups in downtown Olympia. When I stopped to read about it, I found out that the sculptor was creating a growing work of vessels to represent the number of lives lost in Palestine since the beginning of the current genocide. Visually seeing the number represented physically was hugely impactful because I think it's usually very difficult for humans to conceive of the real meaning of death tolls in the thousands.
