The CyberSecurity & Aviation Club at the University of Washington is a student organization specializing in and focusing on the diverse cybersecurity world. In today's age, there is a lack of coverage and focus on infrastructure cyber security, particularly in aviation. Our mission is to build and diversify our student organization in cybersecurity by providing hands-on experience and discussions in cybersecurity practices, with an emphasis on ethical hacking, cyber defense, and cyber in the aviation sector. We offer opportunities and encourage students to engage in real-world applications through participation in Capture The Flag (CTF) events, collaborative projects, and partnerships with industry leaders and educational leaders. CyberSecurity & Aviation is dedicated to advancing knowledge in aviation cybersecurity, particularly in the context of virtual Security Operations Centers (vSOCs), and preparing students for careers as cybersecurity professionals. Our end goal is to foster an open environment for anyone who is a beginner interested in cybersecurity to experienced cyber enthusiasts to come and grow, network, and mentor each other.

This club will give experience to students who want to improve on various skills valuable to potential employers. The club chooses several projects within the Science Technology Engineering and Math fields to focus on including robotics, programming hackathons, microcontrollers, power systems and controllable/autonomous designs. Previous projects included creating a xylophone robot, a robot for the RoboBrawl robotics competition, a Rubik's Cube solving robot, and a rover robot for the Mars Rover competition.
