About UWT Gives:

The UWT Gives Program is a way for the UWT community to help ease the financial burden associated with the holiday season by donating gifts to student families who may not otherwise be able to celebrate. The Center for Student Involvement, in partnership with the University Y Student Center and departments across campus, coordinates this anonymous gift-giving program. 

Important Dates:

Tuesday, November 12th: Applications for both families and donors open

Monday, November 27th: Applications close for both families and donors

Tuesday, November 26th through Friday, December 6th: Matching Day- Each donor will receive a list of gift options for their matched family

Monday, December 9th: Gift Drop Off by 5pm (or schedule an independent drop off time with Buddy Molina at xmolina@uw.edu)- Please drop off unwrapped gifts at the UWY Student Center (107). Please indicate Family Name, Donor Name

Tuesday, December 10th: Gift Wrapping Party.  Join us for a wrapping party at the UWY Student Center 107 (Time - TBD)

Wednesday, December 11th - Friday, December 20th: Gift distribution to families begins in the Center for Student Involvement

Eligibility Requirements for Families:

  • Must be a current UW Tacoma student
  • Must have a family with one or more children/dependents
  • Must have an approved UWT Gives application

Deadlines:

Application is due by Monday, November 25 at 11:59pm. Results will be provided by Tuesday, November 26 at 5:00pm via your UW email address. 

Gift Pick-Up:

Gift pick-up will be available December 11th-20th at the Center for Student Involvement (UWY 107). Information about pick-up scheduling will be provided in your acceptance email!

Want to help? 

UWT Department, RSO, or Individual Sponsorship: Rally your colleagues and sponsor a family anonymously! 

  1. Register your unit by completing the Donor Commitment Form by Monday, November 25th at 11:59pm
  2. Receive your family's gift ideas by Tuesday, November 26th at 5:00pm
  3. Purchase your family's gifts, make sure you coordinate gift purchases with your team! 
  4. Return your unwrapped gifts to UWY 107 by Monday, December 9th at 5:00pm. Be sure to indicate your department/RSO name so we can get the gifts to the correct family!
