Husky Volunteers supports students in their pursuit of creating more positive community interactions, whether it is through curricular or co-curricular programming. This area provides service-learning and leadership opportunities for UW Tacoma students that sustain mutual partnerships, expand learning, advance civic engagement, and contribute to the greater community. The Husky Volunteers Team is here to help you find opportunities to serve and learn in the Tacoma community and surrounding areas.
Husky Volunteers is comprised of five major programs and events, including:
Volunteer Achievement Program - A program that gives recognition to students' volunteer work in their communities. Log existing volunteer work you already participant in, get involved with new opportunities, or learn more about volunteering in general.
Monthly Service Events – Monthly community service events that take students to service projects with different nonprofit organizations in the Tacoma community.
Day of Caring – A day for UW Tacoma students, faculty, staff, and campus leadership to come together to serve a select group of community organizations.
UWT Gives - Husky Volunteers hosts an annual holiday gift drive to support UW Tacoma families during the holiday season.
Volunteer Fair - In an effort to help students line up volunteer placements for the summer break, Husky Volunteers hosts an annual Volunteer Fair in the Winter Quarter. Students are given an opportunity to meet with representatives from a variety of local community organizations.
