What is the OGA Fellows Program?
The Office of Global Affairs is proud to offer UW Tacoma students the opportunity to serve in student leadership positions in our office. Office of Global Affairs Fellows are UW Tacoma students whose mission is to promote global learning opportunities on campus. OGA Fellows help plan, promote, and implement events and assist with international student services, supporting study abroad programs, student fellowship, and award promotion. To successfully carry out these tasks, it is essential to have in-depth and experiential knowledge of study abroad, student fellowship processes, and international student transitions. If you have questions, they have answers!

Expected Graduation: Summer 2025
Hello! My name is Milla Tirona, and I am currently a senior at UWT. I am a Psychology major, minoring in Asian Studies. Choosing psychology as my major came out of a place of compassion for others as well as compassion for myself; I want to help others understand themselves and practice compassion towards themselves as I am constantly learning and trying to do.
I've studied abroad through UW Tacoma in Summer 2022 in the “Prague – The Psychology of Culture, Food, and Human Development” program. I had many worries and anxieties both during the application process and abroad. It was all worth it though; it was a life-changing experience that I want others to experience, and that's why I joined the Office of Global Affairs! I want to help students who want to study abroad and let them experience their own study abroad adventure 😆!
I've also studied abroad through UW Seattle in Summer 2024 in the CIEE Summer Accelerated Chinese Language in Taipei, Taiwan program. It was a unique experience to apply to study abroad through another UW campus, but I am glad to have more experience so I can better advise students who want to study abroad through other UW campuses. Getting the chance to improve my Chinese skills in a Chinese speaking country and the chance to focus on traditional Chinese characters in Taiwan was a wonderful experience.
Studying abroad has allowed me to have experiences where I grew and learned to understand both myself as well as others; whether that be my peers and program directors or the local culture and its people, I learned so much about my identity and myself, what it means to exist alongside others, and how to connect and understand each other. In the hopes that I can encourage other students to take the leap to study abroad, I share my own study abroad experiences. I am looking forward to meeting and connecting with everyone 😄!

Expected Graduation: Winter 2025
Hey y'all, I'm Jazmin Washington! Born and raised in Tacoma, Washington, but I've been lucky enough to call a bunch of other places home too - New York, Maryland, New Jersey, and California, I've been all over! I am finally in my senior year at UDUB (go Huskies!!) studying Psychology. My dream is to become an art psychotherapist for children of color, but lately, I've really been into criminal psychology too. When I'm not studying, you can catch me outside - anywhere near water is my happy place! I'm obsessed with picnics and have a major vinyl collection!
This past summer I was blessed to study abroad in the Czech Republic, and WHEW that was a game-changer for me, and now I'm excited to pay it forward. As a Fellow with the Office of Global Affairs, I'd love to share my experiences and insights to help make study abroad more accessible and amazing for my fellow Huskies. From navigating cultural differences to building global connections, I've learned so much that I'm eager to pass on. By joining this team, I hope to inspire and support students to explore the world and discover their own global passions! Feel free to hit me up with any questions!!

Expected Graduation: Spring 2025
Hey everyone! My name is Chloe Liu and I’m currently a senior majoring in Finance and pursuing minors in Mathematics. Having grown up in China for 18 years, my cultural background has profoundly shaped who I am today, and I am passionate about learning and sharing the diverse cultures that connect us all. I understand the challenges and rewards of studying abroad, and I am eager to share my experiences and assist in making your time here memorable and enriching.
As an OGA Fellow, my goal is to help create a vibrant and inclusive community where everyone can experience the richness of various cultures. I highly encourage everyone to participate in our weekly UWTea Time and monthly trip, you never know what amazing experiences and friendships await you here!
Outside of Office, I have a love for hiking, dancing, baking, and traveling. These hobbies provide a perfect balance to my studies, offering a sense of adventure and creativity. Hiking allows me to connect with nature, especially in Washington State, while dancing and baking let me express myself in different ways. Traveling has expanded my perspective, fueling my passion for exploring new places and cultures. My travel destinations depend on friends from other countries I've recently met. My next destination is Turkey to experience hot air balloons. I hope you guys who enjoy traveling and hiking will join me!
I look forward to meeting you and creating unforgettable memories together. Please feel free to say hello or reach out if there's anything you'd like to know!
