Congratulations on your admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (CJ) campus major at UW Tacoma. To accept or decline your offer of admission to the CJ major, please complete and submit this form.

Please note: Your major will not be changed to Criminal Justice until this signed form has been submitted, allowing you to register for major-restricted courses.

Admission to and progression in the CJ major is contingent on meeting several requirements, including those noted below. Please review carefully before submitting:

  • Transfer and Running Start applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 in all transferable coursework.
  • Current UW students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 in all UW coursework and be in good standing with the University.
  • Applicants must have at least 60 college-level transferable credits before the start of the CJ major.
  • Applicants must have completed at least 5 credits of English composition with a grade of 2.0/C or better.
  • A course in Statistics, with a minimum 2.0 grade is required prior to T CRIM 390, Introduction to Criminal Justice Research, a Criminal Justice major core class. Please note: If statistics is not completed prior to CJ major admission, this course may be completed as part of the CJ curriculum.

The University of Washington Tacoma has established minimum general education and basic skills requirements for baccalaureate degrees. Each academic major meets or exceeds these minimum requirements. Students attending classes at the University of Washington Tacoma are required to provide proof of vaccination against Measles, Mumps, and Meningitis Meningococcal ACWY, with certain exemptions allowed. We recommend that documentation of immunity should be submitted no later than the first day of the quarter. Incomplete records may cause delays in your future quarter registration process.

Admission to and progression in the CJ major is contingent on meeting several requirements, including those noted below. Please initial each item below to demonstrate that you have read and understand these requirements.
The University of Washington Tacoma has established minimum general education and basic skills requirements for baccalaureate degrees. Each academic program and major meets or exceeds these minimum requirements. I have reviewed the General Education and Course Requirements for the Criminal Justice major.
I have reviewed the University of Washington Immunization Requirements, and will provide documentation of immunity.
I have completed or understand that I must complete at least 60 college-level, transferrable credits prior to the start of the program. If admitted with less than the required credits, a copy of the final transcript showing the Spring grades must be submitted by July 1 (for the Summer grades by September 1).
I have completed or am in progress of completing an English Composition course with a grade of 2.0/C or better.
I understand that I will need to complete a statistics course with a 2.0/C prior to enrolling in T CRIM 390, a Criminal Justice core class.
