Majors
A major is the academic discipline, such as business or environmental science, to which an undergraduate student formally commits. Admission and graduation requirements for majors are listed in the General Catalog.
Declare or Change a Major
- The process for declaring a major varies by major and/or school. Regardless, students must meet with their academic advisor before declaring or changing a major.
- Students should declare a major before earning 105 credits to avoid a registration hold.
- Some majors offer formal options. A declared option is notated on a student's transcript.
Double Major or Double Degree
Students may complete the requirements of two majors as either a double major or a double degree.

To add a minor, students need to meet with their academic advisor.
Requirements to declare a minor
- Any undergraduate student with at least sophomore standing (45 credits completed) who is declared in a major may declare a minor.
- A student must be working on their first bachelor's degree and have already declared a major before they can add a minor.
