Alpha Phi Sigma is a national criminal justice honor society that promotes academic excellence, community service, educational leadership and unity. The Pi Beta Pi chapter was established at UW Tacoma in 2017.
Alpha Phi Sigma is the only criminal justice honor society that is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies and affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences. Membership benefits include life-time membership, access to scholarships, personal connections with fellow Criminal Justice students, career development opportunities, and professional contacts made through our meetings and national conferences.
There is an induction ceremony for new Alpha Phi members each spring. Members may purchase a stole to wear in recognition at Commencement.
Admission Requirements:
- An overall GPA of 3.2 or higher
- A GPA of 3.2 or higher in T CRIM courses
- Completed a minimum of 4 T CRIM courses at UW Tacoma
- Completed a minimum of 3 quarters (45 credits) at UW Tacoma
