Milgard School of Business Receives Worldwide Acclaim
June 30, 2022 Milgard School of Business received the distinguished AACSB business school accreditation.
Once again the Milgard School of Business, University of Washington (Tacoma), has received global recognition for excellence. The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB) awarded the MSB with a continued accreditation making the Tacoma-based school one of a minority in the world to receive this repeated acknowledgement.
“AACSB accreditation recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development, and student learning,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “We congratulate each of the newly accredited institutions for earning this respected honor.”
This international accreditation remains with MSB for the next five years and is the culmination of a concerted effort through the University.
“I cannot tell you how proud we are to be recognized among the best business schools in the world,” said Altaf Merchant, PhD, Gary E. and James A. Milgard Endowed Dean. “This accreditation is an acknowledgement of our innovation — something that today’s students demand.”
Associate Dean Zhiyan (Juliet) Cao helped coordinate the School’s effort in the re-accreditation. “I am so proud to be part of a university where education with a lifelong meaning for our students achieves this highest international respect.”
“The commitment to earning accreditation is a true reflection of a school’s dedication—not only to their students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher education industry as a whole,” said Bryant. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s business leaders, and the addition of these institutions to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a lasting positive impact, both locally and globally.”
