Andrea Roper joined Global Honors in Autumn 2009 and graduated summa cum laude in Autumn 2011. She made extraordinary contributions to the UW Tacoma campus while a Global Honors student and was recognized with UWT's Chancellor's Medal for 2012. During her time in Global Honors, she was awarded numerous scholarships, including a Greater Seattle Business Association Scholarship and a Pride Foundation Scholarship.

Andrea studied abroad in Cambodia in the summer of 2010 to study the implementation of the UN Conventions on the Rights of the Child -- a topic which she treated in her Global Honors thesis. Outside the classroom, she was vice-president of HOPE Network, the campus student organization dedicated to raising awareness of Human Rights.
