Autumn Diaz joined Global Honors in Autumn 2017 and graduated magna cum laude in Spring 2018 with Global Honors and a minor in Global Engagement.
"As a first-generation college student, I am excited and honored to be the first person in my family who will have a bachelor's degree come the spring of 2018. I have come to love UWT and am making the most out of the two years I will have been here through community service, studying abroad in South Africa, working as a Global Affairs Fellow in the Office of Global Affairs, and now as a Global Honors student! I am excited to engage in a global curriculum and utilize the resources Global Honors provides for graduate school and beyond!"
While at UW Tacoma, Autumn received the Mary Gates Research Scholarship, Dean's Leadership Award, Gift of Service Award, and the Global Citizen Award. She also studied abroad in South Africa, earning the IGE Bamford Study Abroad Award, OGA Study Abroad Scholarship, and Fritz Study Abroad Scholarship to support her overseas experience.
After graduating, Autumn briefly served as interim Study Abroad Manager and Faculty Assembly Coordinator at UW Tacoma before pursuing a MA/PhD in Communication at the University of Washington, Seattle. She completed the MA portion of her program in 2021 and has since returned to work at the IIGE as Program Coordinator while completing her PhD.
