UW Tacoma HR is usually the first point of contact to provide assistance for your HR needs. However, there are some areas where UWHR resources will provide the best support.
BENEFITS
UW Total Benefits administers insurance, retirement and other benefits programs for all UW employees. Local HR/payroll offices do not have visibility or access to employee benefits information. Employees should contact the Employee Workday Help (previously ISC) for questions regarding new enrollment or changes. UW Total Benefits provides consultation regarding retirement plans.
COMPENSATION
The Human Resources Office at UW Tacoma provides consultation and support for employees and managers regarding compensation requests. Compensation requests involve review and approvals from supervisors, departmental budget authority, department heads and UW Compensation. Many compensation requests involve UW-wide policies as well as UWT campus procedures. Specific questions regarding staff compensation can be directed to UW Tacoma HR. For faculty compensation, please contact Academic Human Resources or your school administrator.
HOLIDAY SCHEDULE
The UW holiday schedule applies to employees at all UW campuses. Whether an employee receives holiday pay is determined by their specific employment program. Specific questions can be directed to UW Tacoma HR.
LEAVE INFORMATION
Leave policies are governed by the UW Professional Staff Program, various bargaining unit contracts, and state regulations. Specific questions can be directed to UW Tacoma HR.
PAYROLL
The UW Employee Workday Help administers the UW payroll/HR system, Workday. While most Workday transactions and business processes involve the Employee Workday Help team, and there are some things that require intervention by Employee Workday Help, employees can initiate specific questions with UW Tacoma HR. Employees are also welcome to contact Employee Workday Help directly.
WORK/LIFE RESOURCES
UWHR provides a variety of resources to support employees inside and outside of the workplace. Programs include child care, elder care, counseling services and discount programs.
