Academic Drop Notice
Dear student,
This letter is to inform you that based on your Summer Quarter academic progress, you are now in an academic drop status with the University. While on academic warning (formerly known as academic probation) you failed to meet the requirement to either raise your cumulative GPA to 2.0 or to earn a 2.0 GPA for the quarter. As a result, you are no longer academically eligible to continue your course work at UW Tacoma.
If you remain in drop status and are registered for Autumn Quarter, the Office of the Registrar will drop your course registration by the end of the day, Friday, September 15th. You will also receive notification of your drop status sent as an email message from the Seattle Registrar’s Office however the message you receive from our office will take precedence over Seattle’s date to drop your enrollment.
Please check your grades on MyUW and notify our office if there is a discrepancy or if any grades have not yet been recorded as this may affect your GPA and eligibility.
After sitting out a quarter, you may petition for reinstatement to UW Tacoma. Petitions for reinstatement are available from the Office of the Registrar and will require you to start with your advisor.
Please schedule an appointment online to meet with your advisor. It is in your best interest to do so as soon as possible.
Please contact the Office of the Registrar if you have any questions at reguwt@uw.edu.
Sincerely,
Andrea Coker-Anderson, MPA
Registrar
