Meet PDC Instructor Joey Pauley and hear how he approaches the intersection of personal, team, and organizational growth.
Energetic and exuberant, Joey Pauley exhibits a keen interest in connecting people, understanding what makes organizations successful and helping everyone he meets live a life aligned with their personal mission and vision.
After starting a career as a graphic and web designer, Pauley went back to school to learn about organizational development upon recognizing a deeper understanding of his own skills and abilities. A natural facilitator, he knew that he could bring his natural talents to organizations and companies as an organizational consultant, work he has done for over 13 years. Pauley sees how personal, professional, and organizational growth are all interconnected.
“We all have those brain shortcuts, ways of doing and thinking about things that become habit,” noted Pauley. “Getting out of our comfort zones, challenging ourselves to explore new perspectives and having new experiences are key to ongoing personal and professional growth. It is often in those moments of discomfort that we have the greatest learning.”
A recently new instructor with the UW Tacoma Professional Development, Pauley brings a wealth of experience consulting and teaching. Pauley currently serves as the President of the Pacific Northwest Organizational Development Network and the Project Week Director for The Overlake School in Seattle. His consulting clients include Amazon, Boeing, Expedia, Group Health Cooperative, Microsoft, and Seattle University.
A proud father, Pauley can be found keeping up with his young daughter or on the slopes sharing his love of skiing as a ski instructor.
