The program prerequisite courses listed below must be completed prior to your quarter of admission with a minimum 2.0 grade. If there are any you have not completed, it is your responsibility to discuss this with your advisor. Also, you must obtain your Associate of Nursing degree prior to beginning the program. Additionally, proof of an unrestricted Washington State RN license must be provided prior to beginning practicum coursework (T NURS 414). The following prerequisites should be completed prior to the start of the RN-BSN program. If there are any you have not completed, please see your advisor regarding your curriculum plan. English Composition (5 credits) Inorganic or Introduction to Chemistry (5 credits) Microbiology (3-5 credits) Anatomy and Physiology I and II (10 credits) Statistics (5 credits) To graduate from the Nursing Program, you must have a minimum of 180 credits; this includes 45 credits in residence at UW Tacoma (35 credits in UW Tacoma Nursing coursework and 10 credits in UW Tacoma upper-division electives); 45 exam credits for RN license (based on successful completion of RN board exams); as well as a minimum of 90 credits via prerequisites, transfer and elective credits. You must maintain an overall cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and earn a minimum of 2.0 in all nursing, nursing-related, and required courses. After successful completion of the program, you will receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. IMPORTANT: During the first quarter of classes, all students must meet with their advisor and check their transfer credits via the Degree Audit Reporting System (DARS).
