Center for Urban Waters recognized for real estate development
The Center for Urban Waters was recognized by the Washington chapter of NAIOP, The Commercial Real Estate Development Association.
The Washington chapter of NAIOP, The Commercial Real Estate Development Association recently recognized the Center for Urban Waters with a “Public Projects of the Year” award.
The special award was presented this month at the chapter's annual gala. Lake Union Park in Seattle was also recognized.
The chapter leadership chose the recipients to recognize public/private entities that serve as examples for others to follow, according to Kristin Jensen, the event co-chair.
NAIOP is the nation's largest commercial real estate professional organization, serving developers, owners and investors of office, industrial, retail and mixed-use real estate. Its Washington chapter, based in Seattle, is the fourth largest of 58 in North America.
About the Center for Urban Waters
The Center for Urban Waters is a world-class environmental services and research laboratory located in Tacoma on the east shore of Thea Foss Waterway. The center is the result of a partnership between the city of Tacoma, the University of Washington Tacoma and the Puget Sound Partnership, the Washington state agency tasked with restoring and protecting Puget Sound. The building houses government and higher education groups that collaborate on policy making, research and enforcement designed to address the pollution problems facing urban communities.
