The Global Innovation and Design (GID) Lab promotes innovation through design thinking across the UW Tacoma campus and community. We are:
- a hub for innovation through the principles of design thinking.
- a catalyst for transformative education, providing students with the tools and resources to move inquiries to solutions.
The GID Lab is supported by the Institute for Innovation and Global Engagement (IIGE) through its dynamic network of campus and community partners. Together, the IIGE and the GID Lab add momentum to UW Tacoma’s strategic goal of global learning and advance the University of Washington’s imperative to be boundless.
The GID Lab is a member of the Design Justice Network.

Land Acknowledgment
We acknowledge the Coast Salish peoples of this land on which we gather, the land which touches the shared waters of all tribes and bands within the Suquamish, Tulalip, and Muckleshoot nations. We respectfully acknowledge their stewardship of this land throughout the generations.
