The Master of Science in Accounting (MSAcc) program is designed to accommodate your busy work schedule, allowing you to meet the CPA exam fifth-year requirement and earn your master’s degree in nine months while attending evening classes.

It’s also one of the first master of accounting programs in the U.S. to incorporate social reporting, forensic accounting and international accounting in its curriculum.

Our teacher certification programs prepare students for either Elementary Education with Special Education or English Language Learners or Secondary Education in either Science or Mathematics. For practicing educators we offer an Educational Administrator program and a general Master of Education program with study options in: Curriculum and Instruction, Special Education, Student Academic and Social Success (SASS) or Teaching English Language Learners (TELL).

In the 21st century, such efforts to disrupt and dismantle require investments in self-and community-healing, community grounded approaches, centering ancestral knowledges, Black and Indigenous-centric theories, and a commitment to praxis (or a linking of critical reflection and action). Towards the goal of preparing leaders to sustain healing approaches to familial, local, regional, and global traumas, UW Tacoma's Ed.D. aims to cultivate leaders who incorporate de-colonial, social justice, and antiracist approaches to imagine and build educational structures and systems.
The Ed.D. program is a three-year, non-traditional cohort format that enables currently employed educational leaders and practitioners to pursue a doctoral degree. Class sessions meet one weekend approximately once per month with digital learning in between.

The Master of Nursing program prepares RNs for practice in a range of settings as leaders, managers, care providers and educators. Two curriculum options are offered. Leader in Healthcare Delivery students gain in-depth knowledge and skills relating to leading in an environment of constant change in healthcare systems, government agencies and community organizations. Nurse Educator students gain knowledge to develop educational programs, evaluate performance and facilitate learning and are prepared to teach in a variety of roles including academic nursing program faculty, staff educators and patient educators.
School Psychology (EdS)

Courses emphasize multi-tiered systems of prevention and intervention that holistically promote equity; social, emotional, and behavioral wellness; academic success; and collaborative partnerships. Successful graduates from this program meet the requirements for initial certification (Educational Staff Associate) as a school psychologist in the state of Washington.
An Educational Specialist degree is a graduate degree that is more advanced than a master’s degree. It includes two years of coursework and practicum and one year of school-based internship.

The Master of Social Work program prepares learners for advanced and specialized practice as providers of social services and includes a combination of field experience and classroom learning.
The advanced curriculum provides an in-depth education, through the classroom and practicum, to prepare graduates for advanced, specialized practice. Topics include applied research, social policy, and advanced content in social work practice models and methods. This program enables learners to develop skill in the concentration area of Advanced Integrative Practice.
A part-time Advanced Standing option is available to eligible applicants with an undergraduate degree in social work or social welfare.
Software Development

Over the course of a year, students learn the core concepts of computer science, spanning from fundamental data structures and algorithms, to software engineering, to object-oriented and systems programming through lectures and hands-on labs. Guest speakers from industry share experience and real-world perspective. The program concludes with a project-based capstone course emphasizing team-oriented full stack development.
This graduate certificate is meant for people who have already earned their bachelor's degree (in any field) and have basic programming skills.
