Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Overview
The Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) is a college program available at over 1,700 colleges and universities across the U.S. that trains young adults to become U.S. military officers.
At UW Tacoma, we participate in Army ROTC in partnership with Pacific Lutheran University. Here are some opportunities available:
- Army ROTC Four-Year Scholarship: High school seniors can apply for this scholarship, which covers 100% of tuition and fees, provides a book allowance, and includes a monthly stipend.
- Green to Gold Program: This is for active-duty soldiers looking to transition to officer roles.
- Simultaneous Membership Program: This option is available for Army National Guard and Army Reserve members.
Cadets enrolled in ROTC pay a cross-enrollment fee to take Military Science courses at Pacific Lutheran University. They will also receive official transcripts with Military Science credits that can be transferred to UW Tacoma.
