Appointments are required for all Tuberculosis (TB) services at Student Health Services.
PPD - TB Skin Test Injection
- Requires 4 appointments
- Free of charge to UW Tacoma students who are eligible for Student Health Services.
- The total time to complete a PPD Skin Test injection is 11 – 13 days.
- Visit One
You’ll receive an injection.
- Visit Two: 48 – 72 hours after Visit One
The practitioner will examine your body’s reaction to the injection.
- Visit Three: 7 days after Visit Two
You’ll receive an injection.
- Visit Four: 48 – 72 hours after Visit Three
The practitioner will examine your body’s reaction to the injection.
- Visit One
Quantiferon Gold - TB blood test to confirm a recent positive PPD reading
- Students will not be charged for their office visit or their blood draw.
- Students are responsible for lab testing, which may be paid by using private insurance or cash (discounts available). They may also apply for financial assistance.
Chest X-Ray - For patients with a recent positive PPD reading.
- Students will not be charged for their office visit.
- Students are responsible for the x-ray service, which may be paid by using private insurance or cash (discounts available). They may also apply for financial assistance.
Annual TB Symptom Check - For patients with a positive PPD reading in the past.
Free of charge to UW Tacoma students who are eligible for Student Health Services.
