UW Tacoma Additional Compensation Request- Faculty

Main Content

All emergency instructional coverage requests (TPS) must be approved by the Dean of the home school and the Executive Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. Emergency Instructional Coverage pay is used for teaching overloads when a faculty member is already at 100% FTE.  These are designed for one-time situations, when you have exhausted all other options. It should not be part of a faculty member’s schedule. One teaching overload may be approved, per academic year, for a faculty member.

In accordance with EO59, Temporary Supplemental Pay (TPS) for project work or one-time payments should not exceed 25% of monthly gross salary. Grant pay is not eligible as excess compensation payments. Additional compensation payments of any type must be approved by the Dean of the home school before requesting EVCAA approval and all approvals must be secured prior to the start of the work.
