The Student Assisiting Business(SAB) program is a direct example of the mission of the Milgard School in that it is at its very core an innovative community engaged program that is socially responsible. By connecting students to local small businesses and non-profit organizations the SAB program provides students an opportunity to learn from those that are successful entrepreneurs and engaged community members. By funding the student workers compensation through scholarships, the business community is supported financially to accomplish their many and diverse goals and needs.

Yes, students can do an internship along with SAB project.
No, students can not do SAB project after graduation.
No, SAB projects are only open to Milgard School of Business students.
Yes, students can do more than one SAB project
Yes, students will get paid on hourly basis at $20 per hour for the number of hours a student has invested in the project.
Student will be responsible for keeping a track of their working hours on SAB project.
Employer will have to send an email to the student and Prof Shankus upon completion of the SAB project and then payment will be done.
The student stipend amount of $1000 for the SAB project is subject to taxation. Students are required to provide documentation to establish employment eligibility in the United States and make elections for income tax withholding.
SAB project can be in-person, remote or hybrid, depending on employer's requirement.
There is no guarantee of full time opportunity but there have been occasions where employers have given regular employment to the students.
Participation is based on lawful employment in the United States.
No, start and end are determined in agreement with employer and student employee and do not have to be in accordance with academic calendar.
No, there is no academic credit earned and there will be no grading.

Business owners had an end goal in mind. In class, the objectives would be handed to me. Here, I had to come up with an objective to help the businesses.
Betzina greatly enjoyed and benefitted from her experience with Students Assisting Business and TheyNeedXYZ. When asked if she would advise other students to participate in an SAB job, she enthusiastically pronounced “Absolutely! 100%.”
